Use this guide for the entire first-unboxing and first-boot process. It helps you get set up correctly, solve simple problems quickly, and preserve the proof required for a valid dead-on-arrival claim.
IMPORTANT: START RECORDING BEFORE YOU OPEN THE BOX
Because TMD Consoles provides dead-on-arrival coverage only, clear unboxing video proof is required for a DOA claim. Begin recording while the package is still sealed and continue through the first setup and first power-on attempt whenever possible.
1
BEFORE OPENING
Inspect the Shipping Box First
Before cutting tape or removing anything, look over the entire package. If the shipping carton has a crushed corner, puncture, tear, water damage, or other visible impact damage, make sure that damage is clearly visible in your video before opening the box.
Do not publish your shipping label publicly. The video is for purchase/DOA verification and should be sent privately to TMD Consoles if a claim is necessary.
2
UNBOXING PROOF
Record the Complete Unboxing
Open the package on camera. Keep the console, packaging, accessories, power supply, cables, storage devices, and any included paperwork in view as much as possible. The goal is to create a clear record of the console's condition when it reached you.
What the video should show
The unopened package.
The box being opened.
The console being removed from its protective packaging.
The exterior condition of the console.
Included cables, power supply, controller, Kinect, storage, or other accessories included with your specific order.
The first hookup and first attempt to power on.
Keep the packaging
Do not immediately throw away the shipping carton.
Keep foam, bubble wrap, inserts, bags, and internal packing materials.
Keep the package until you have confirmed the console powers on and operates normally.
If a DOA issue is reported, retain everything until TMD Consoles provides instructions.
3
FIRST CONNECTION
Connect the Console Carefully
Use the power supply and cables included with your order when applicable. Do not force connectors. If a plug does not fit easily, stop and verify that you are using the correct port and orientation.
Power
Connect the correct power supply directly to a known-working wall outlet or reliable surge protector. Make sure every power connection is fully seated.
Video
Connect HDMI directly from the console to the television or monitor for the first test. Avoid splitters, capture devices, receivers, converters, or HDMI switches during initial troubleshooting.
Accessories
Connect only the accessories required for the first boot. Additional USB devices and optional accessories can be added after you confirm the console starts normally.
4
FIRST POWER-ON
What to Check on the First Boot
Once everything is connected, power on the display first and select the correct HDMI input. Then power on the console. Give the system a moment to complete its normal startup process.
5
NO POWER
If the Console Does Not Turn On
Do not open the console. Start with simple external checks that cannot damage or alter the system.
Verify the outlet. Plug in another simple device to make sure the outlet or surge protector is actually supplying power.
Reseat every power connection. Disconnect and reconnect the wall cable, power brick connection, and console power connector.
Check the power supply indicator. If your power supply has an indicator light, record its color/state before and after trying to power on.
Remove nonessential accessories. Disconnect unnecessary USB devices and try the console with only power and HDMI connected.
Record the result. If it still does not power on, capture the attempted startup clearly on video and contact TMD Consoles.
6
NO PICTURE
If the Console Powers On but You Have No Video
A console can be powered on while the television is simply looking at the wrong input or the HDMI connection is not making proper contact. Try these checks before assuming the console is defective.
Confirm the TV/monitor is on the exact HDMI input you connected.
Reseat the HDMI cable on both ends.
Try a different HDMI port on the television.
Try another known-working HDMI cable if available.
Connect directly to the TV instead of through a receiver, capture card, splitter, switch, converter, or sound system.
Power off both the console and TV, reconnect HDMI, turn the TV on first, select the input, and then power on the console again.
Do not repeatedly force an HDMI plug into a port. Bent or physically damaged ports caused after delivery are not a dead-on-arrival condition.
7
CONTROLLER & ACCESSORIES
If the Controller or Accessories Do Not Connect
First verify that the console itself boots normally. Then troubleshoot accessories one at a time.
Controller
Use fresh batteries or a charged battery pack where applicable.
Use the console's normal sync/pairing process.
Move the controller close to the console during pairing.
If using a wired connection, reseat the cable and try another compatible USB port.
Storage / USB / Kinect
Power the console off before reseating removable storage when appropriate.
Make sure USB devices are connected firmly without forcing the connector.
For Kinect-equipped Xbox 360 systems, confirm the sensor cable is fully seated in the correct port or power arrangement for that console.
Add optional accessories one at a time after the console's basic operation is confirmed.
8
CUSTOM XBOX 360
Xbox 360 RGH First-Boot Guidance
Your custom Xbox 360 may boot into a configured dashboard environment instead of behaving exactly like a completely stock system. Give the console time to complete its startup process.
Normal first checks
Confirm the system reaches the configured dashboard/menu.
Confirm the included storage device is detected.
Check that the controller responds normally.
For LED builds, confirm the lighting powers on as shown in the product listing.
Do not panic if a custom boot takes slightly longer than a stock boot in some situations.
Do not change this immediately
Do not delete dashboard folders, launch files, plugins, or system folders.
Do not format the included storage just because Windows or another device prompts you.
Do not open the console or alter wiring.
Do not install random system files or updates before you understand what they change.
9
NINTENDO SWITCH CFW
Switch, Hekate & Atmosphere Guidance
The included microSD card is part of the configured environment. Keep the card installed unless you are following instructions that specifically require removing it.
Important
Do not format the microSD card when another device prompts you.
Do not delete Hekate, Atmosphere, bootloader, or other configuration folders.
Keep a backup of the microSD card contents once the system is confirmed working.
Power the system down properly before removing storage.
If it does not boot as expected
Confirm the microSD card is fully seated.
Charge the console before troubleshooting a low-battery boot issue.
Do not begin deleting or replacing boot files.
Record the behavior and contact TMD Consoles if the configured environment will not start.
10
STORAGE PRODUCTS
Storage Upgrade First Checks
If you purchased a storage product, verify the physical connection first. Do not immediately initialize, erase, format, or repartition a drive because a computer prompts you to do so.
Install or connect the storage only in the intended compatible console/setup.
Confirm the connector is aligned correctly and not forced.
If the console does not detect the storage, power down and reseat the connection once.
Do not use PC disk tools on console storage unless you specifically know the required format and consequences.
11
DEAD ON ARRIVAL
If You Believe the Console Is DOA
Stop troubleshooting before doing anything invasive. A dead-on-arrival claim is for a product that arrived unable to perform its basic intended startup/operation at the time of delivery. The claim must be supported by the required unboxing evidence.
Send TMD Consoles:
Your order number.
The email/name used for the order.
Your complete unboxing video.
A short description of exactly what happens when you try to power on or use the console.
Clear additional photos/video of the issue if requested.
Do not ship the console back on your own. Wait until TMD Consoles reviews the claim and provides written return instructions if the claim qualifies.
All sales are final, and DOA coverage is limited to the condition of the product when delivered. Problems caused after delivery are not covered as a dead-on-arrival condition.

BEFORE CONTACTING US
Have This Information Ready
The more clearly you describe the problem, the faster we can understand what you are seeing.
KEEP THIS PAGE HANDY
Set It Up First. Modify It Later.
Confirm that your console powers on, displays video, recognizes the included hardware, and operates normally before changing files, settings, storage, wiring, or system software. If something appears wrong on arrival, document it first and contact TMD Consoles before making changes.
